Harris City Academy Crystal Palace Teaching School Hub is an Appropriate Body for ECT Induction in Croydon, Sutton and Epsom and Ewell. We provide full support for ECTs, Mentors and schools as well as quality assurance for the ECT Induction programme.

All qualified teachers who are employed in a relevant school in England must, by law, have satisfactorily, completed an induction period, subject to specified exemptions and confirmed by an Appropriate Body.

The appointment of an Appropriate Body is a statutory requirement for the Early Career Teacher (ECT) induction period. 

Harris City Academy Crystal Palace Teaching School Hub prides itself on providing a well established, high quality service to local schools and ECTs.

This service includes:

• Expert advice and training for Headteachers and ECF Induction Tutors in all school settings
• A published calendar of key dates prior to the start of the academic year to support your planning
• Harris ECT Manager Platform for all reporting
• Handbook, Progress Review and Assessment exemplars, standards trackers, lesson observation templates are provided
• High-quality Early Career Framework resources, training and support for ECTs and Mentors
• Bespoke support and advice on the Full Induction Programme if required for new Induction Tutors
• Online access to the “best bets” in evidence-informed teaching practice endorsed by the DfE & EEF
• Additional subject and pedagogy CPD sessions available from specialist teacher educators
• Fair and consistent assessment against the Teachers’ Standards across all institutions
• Streamlined processes for monitoring Professional Progress Reviews and Formal Assessments
• Transition support for ECTs moving to a new AB, school, or changing the length of induction
• Two days in-school support for ECTs who need additional support plus an ongoing helpline for confidential/well-being issues
• Experienced AB Panel to serve on accreditation, moderation and appeals
• All registrations and reporting to the Teacher Regulation Agency

​Harris City Academy Crystal Palace Teaching School Hub offers the following five options for your Appropriate Body and ECF from September 2023 (cost is per ECT):

• AB and Harris Full Induction Programme - £400 for two years
• AB and Core Inductions Programme led by schools - £550 for 2 years
• AB and School Led Programme - £625 for 2 years
• AB Only – ECF provided by an alternative provider - £400 for two years
• Harris Full Induction Programme without Appropriate Body Services – No charge

These costs are correct for the academic year 2023-24. The cost of this service is reviewed prior to each Academic year.
